'Ahh,' Maddi thought gazing across the field, ' I live the smell of fresh corn!' She sprinted into her house. Glancing around the 3rd floor, she found anothe set of stairs. " Must lead to the 4th floor," she muttered. As she climbed the winding staircase, she noticed a stream of light coming from behind a door.
Maddi's curiousity got the better of her. She walked into the room behind the old oak door. She gasped at what she saw. Light streamed in from the walls. Yes, the walls, for they were glass. She looked towards the west and saw a window.
" Max's house," she whispered in awe. She looked down and saw the the floor was no longer carpet, but bright, polished wood. " Dad!!" she called down the staircase. She heard his heavy footsteps as he trompled up the rickety stairs.
" What is it?" she heard him call. When he walked through the door, he gasped in admiration. " You want it?"
" Wha-?" Maddi snaped her head up.
Maddi's POV:
I was staring out the window when I heard my dad gasp and whisper, " You want it?" I was shaken out of my daydream and back into reality. " Wha-?" My dad had never, not once, asked me if I wanted something. Usually, he would go and get it for me, or choose for me.
" Ye- yes," I ran over to my dad and gave him one of my rare hugs.
"Ok, make sure you bring your stuff up here, 'kay?"
"Yea, got it!" I rushed downstairs.
" They here yet, Mads?" my dad came down a few minutes later. I glanced away from the T.V, which my dad had somehow put up already, and nodded. " How long?" he murmered, knowing I would hear him.
" Right about, 3-2-1, now!" I looked back at the T.V and the doorbell rang. My dad smiled and went to the door. I followed behind him. The Adams' came in one by one and I greeted them as they walked through the door.
" Hello, Mrs. and Mr. Adam's. Hi Pepsi!" I patted the rottwiler as he walked through the door, " Athena and Hermes will be over-joyed to see you," Max walked in last. I drew in a breath. He had changed out of his school uniform and into a black t-shirt, a dark blue jacket, some faded black jeans and he had combed his hair so that it fell over his eyes. I was glad that I had changed out of just my sweats and tee, and into my brown shirt, some faded blue jeans and put my hair into a tight ponytail.
"Still obssed with Greek gods, are we, Madikins?" he smirked. I tackeled him, " Yea, I am, Maxikins," I grinned back at him.
